An Investigative Look at the Real Benefits of Hemp Oil

Right now, across America (and even the world), there’s a phenomenon taking place. Everywhere I go on the internet, I find another person making some big claims about hemp oil.

In the past, I used to be wary of people who would make these sorts of wild claims. To me, they were nothing more than stories made up by stoners who wanted to make their drug habit acceptable in the public’s eyes.

But, as time went on, more reputable sources started making the same claims. I’ve seen videos of children and adults with horrible seizures instantly cured. I’ve read stories of people with one debilitating disease after another (including cancer) say they were cured after they started medicating with hemp oil.

I decided to investigate this growing phenomenon and see if there was any truth to the claims. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

What is Hemp/Hemp Oil?

First, let’s talk about what hemp really is.

The first thing I learned is how wrong I was to assume people use hemp to get high. There are multiple variations and breeds of the cannabis plant, many of which don’t have the same mind-altering chemical compound THC.

That’s why hemp oil is 100% legal in the United States.  If there’s no THC, and it doesn’t get you high, there’s no reason for it to be considered a controlled substance. There’s no risk of abuse, addiction, or using hemp oil as a gateway drug.

Hemp itself has over 25,000 uses. People all over the world have used it as a better, more sustainable source of paper, rope, plastic, clothes, and so much more. They burn it for fuel, make building materials, ink, and even cars. Henry Ford used hemp once to build the body of a car that was proven to be ten times stronger and lighter than steel! It even ran on hemp gasoline!

Health Benefits

Despite all its practical uses, this report is mainly focused on the health benefits of hemp oil. Hemp has been used for thousands of years as a health supplement, but a lot of those benefits have been suppressed once cannabis became illegal in the United States. It became this evil drug plant blamed for ruining lives.

In our modern culture, we seem more focused on getting back to the natural ways of doing things. Scientific studies are catching up to what our ancestors always knew: hemp oil saves lives. It does so by how the plant interacts with our bodies.

Imagine a natural cure to almost everything that ails us. It sounds too good to be true, but again, science is seriously getting behind it! Laws are finally loosening up a bit as cannabis is no longer a dirty word. The studies I found on hemp oil completely blew me away!

Hemp Oil's Impact on the Brain

Our bodies have what is called the endocannabinoid system. Within this system are receptors CB1 and CB2. Your brain has most of the CB1 receptors, while the rest of your body has CB2. The cannabis plants have so many health benefits because they bind to these receptors and work within the endocannabinoid system, directly influencing both the brain and the body.

It’s all in how the compounds bind to the receptors. For example, the THC compound will bind directly to the CB1 receptors in the brains, which is what causes the euphoria and other issues that come with it, like heightened sense of paranoia and memory loss.

Hemp oil’s main compound, without the presence of THC, is Cannabidiol. Cannabidiol works like a buffer in the brain, attaching to the same receptors, but in a different way that keeps other compounds from attaching. For example, the paranoia and anxiety THC causes, is absent in hemp oil and, in fact, has the opposite effect on the brain.

Therefore, so many people swear by hemp oil for relieving anxiety and stress. The chemicals in the brain that causes stress in your body are repressed. Cannabidiol also helps to produce a chemical called anandamide, which regulates the feel-good chemicals known as dopamine and serotonin.

While you won’t get high on hemp oil, the Cannabidiol will make you feel calm and relaxed, eating away at stress and depression. If you have chronic anxiety, there are certain parts of the brain that light up due to increased blood flow to that region, but Cannabidiol will quiet those regions by relaxing the flow of blood.

Because Cannabidiol interacts with the brain in this way, you get the results you see on the videos of hemp oil curing all sorts of seizure and other mental disorders.

Hemp oil is being used to effectively treat:

  • -Anxiety
  • -Depression
  • -Seizures
  • -Parkinson’s Disease
  • -Alzheimer’s Disease
  • -Dementia
  • -Psychosis
  • -Brain damage from trauma

Hemp Oil and Pain

Just like the Cannabidiol in hemp oil works on CB1 receptors in the brain, it also does a great job on CB2 receptors found in the immune system. The immune system is in control of various cellular functions throughout the entire body. One of those involves pain.

As much as we hate pain, it’s our body’s natural response to distress and/or injury. The immune system is responsible for creating this inflammation, but sometimes, the system can get out of whack and create autoimmune diseases.

Hemp oil manages pain because it soothes the inflammatory response of the immune system and lowers the level of stress on the body. The number of inflammatory molecules floating around in your blood, muscles, and tissue drops considerably, inhibiting pain signals from shooting to the brain.

This can be a lifesaver if you suffer from chronic pain. Constant, relentless chronic pain is a drain on your body. It fries your nerves and keeps you from being able to relax by regularly triggering your body’s ‘fight or flight’ response. If you’re on edge all the time, your bones and muscles take the brunt of the damage.

Hemp oil’s anti-inflammatory properties not only calms that trigger, but helps to relieve pain associated with several issues:

  • -Arthritis
  • -Chronic pain
  • -Fibromyalgia
  • -Back/Neck pain
  • -Inflammation
  • -Hypertension
  • -Lupus
  • -Muscle Spasms
  • -Nerve Damage
  • -Fight-or-Flight response
  • -Psoriasis

Hemp Oil and Sleep

If you were to ask every American about their sleep habits, the vast majority of them will say they often struggle to get a full night’s rest. In fact, over 60 million of us claim to have had insomnia at least once per year, which can cost a loss of productivity and even people’s lives.

Not getting enough sleep can be deadly.

To treat insomnia, people take medications and try all sorts of different remedies without knowing what the real culprit was: STRESS!

Insomnia is often a symptom of stress and anxiety in your life. Maybe you’re working extra hard to complete that project at work or under a deadline. It can be an emotional stressor, like losing a loved one or relationship troubles.

When you can’t turn your brain off at night or your body is constantly reacting to external stimuli (like chronic pain), it can be difficult to get the recommended 8 hours you need to wake up refreshed. It’s a cycle that repeats itself, because if you’re not getting good sleep, your body breaks down a little more with each passing day, adding to the stress of the situation.

As this article covered previously, hemp oil has an amazing calming effect on the body! It melts away stress, fights depression and anxiety, and soothes sore, achy muscles.

Those who take hemp oil for other conditions often report that they’ve never slept better while taking it. In turn, getting more sleep has an increased therapeutic response. Better sleep will often result in less stress and physical ailments.

Hemp Oil and Heart Disease

Heart disease is still one of causes of death for Americans. Our diets play a major role, but some heart conditions are genetic and seem to pass down from family to family. But hemp oil is now on the radar of many heart doctors and scientists as a treatment for this condition.

Heart disease is caused when our blood vessels harden due to a collection of plaque inside the artery. This can slow the flow of blood, build pressure, and can even become dislodged and get stuck in smaller vessels. This is often what causes strokes as well.

When there’s less blood flow to regions that are blocked, the tissues die. They need the blood to work properly, so over time, the decreased blood activity will kill the tissues and causing all sorts of internal and irreparable damage, especially to the heart and other vital organs.

Hemp oil counteracts this process.

Not only does hemp oil prevent plaque from sticking properly on artery walls, it also keeps down the inflammation caused by increased heart pressure and relaxes the arteries themselves.

Hemp Oil and Cancer

Perhaps the greatest breakthrough when it comes to hemp oil is its ability to help treat cancer. I’ve heard this claim for years and thought it was too good to be true. The reality is, there’s a lot of new evidence to promote the idea that hemp oil DOES kill certain types of cancer.

Even the National Cancer Institute, run by the U.S. government, has recently stated that Cannabidiol has major anti-cancer properties! That’s huge news from an official source.

The American Association for Cancer Research came out with a study in 2015 that revealed hemp oil shreds breast cancer cells by inflicting programmed cell death.

In their paper they write:

“We found that hemp oil inhibited the survival of both estrogen receptor-positive and estrogen receptor-negative breast cancer cell lines and induced apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner. Moreover, at these concentrations, hemp oil had little effect on MCF-10A cells, non tumorigenic, mammary cells. These data enhance the desirability of hemp oil as an anticancer agent, because they suggest that hemp oil preferentially kills breast cancer cells, while minimizing damage to normal breast tissue.”

Hemp oil may even be a safer alternative to chemotherapy.

Chemo is an all-out blitzkrieg to fry your system in the hope that the cancer cells also die. The problem with this technique is that your immune system and good cells that fight cancer are fried as well. A lot of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy die of a simple cold or flu due to compromised immunity.

Hemp oil, on the other hand, binds itself to the CB2 receptors in our spleen. These receptors have the task of pumping out anandamide as a boost to the immune system.

Sometimes the body gets overworked when fighting a disease and can’t keep up with the production of anandamide.

When hemp oil is taken, it goes on a hunting expedition for cancer cells and destroys them, stopping them from growing and reproducing. Thanks to the boost in the immune system, your body can keep fighting while the Cannabidiol naturally stops the cancer from spreading. It can also treat the symptoms that come with cancer, including pain and nausea.

Hemp oil:

  • -Kills cancer cells.
  • -Prevents cancer cells from dividing.
  • -Increases the production of the immune system.
  • -Aids the production of anandamide.
  • -Keeps cancer from spreading in the body.
  • -Speeds up the process through which the body gets rid of waste and toxins.
  • -Doesn’t attack the good, healthy cells and tissue.
  • -None of the side-effects or damage associated with other cancer treatments, like chemo.
  • -Treats the symptoms of cancer.

Is Hemp Oil Too Good to Be True?

After reading this article, you might see all the claims made with an eye of skepticism. Curing cancer, reducing heart disease, and melting away stress are things I’ve heard for years and I always rolled my eyes at them, never taking it seriously. I would think, “It’s just stoners and their wishful thinking to get drugs legalized!”

After watching the videos on YouTube and seeing more scientific studies released on the benefits of hemp oil, I decided to investigate these claims with an open mind.

When you think about it, our body works in sync with itself. Your brain, your heart, your organs, and your nerves are all interconnected. Your heart sends blood to the brain. The brain sends signals to your body. It’s all held together by nerves, arteries, tissues, and bone.

Don’t think of hemp oil as a cure for 1001 multiple and distinct issues. Because our body is interconnected, most of our health problems are often caused by a few singular outside triggers like stress and diet.

Stress alone can cause heart disease, high blood pressure, insomnia, depression, anxiety, obesity, pain, exhaustion, and even cancer. It will suppress your immune system, making you sick all the time.

Personal Experience

As a result of my stressful job, I was dealing with high blood pressure, chronic pain, fatigue, and increased irritability.

I found a good company online that sells the highest quality hemp oil and decided to give it a shot.

Not all hemp oils are made the same, as several brands add fillers and other junk to it, so I made sure to do my homework and found <insert link> to be the best deal.

Once it arrived, I opened the package eager to give it a shot. It took only a few minutes before I felt the effects.

It wasn’t a ‘high’ feeling, as it doesn’t have THC, but I felt a sense of calm and peace wash completely over me. My tense muscles relaxed and I had the best night sleep since I could ever remember having in my life.

Best of all, I was just in a good mood. Everyone from my wife to my coworkers just noticed how much more relaxed I was. My mental clarity was improved and work didn’t seem as stressful either.

There’s no doubt in my mind now that hemp oil is the real deal. It’s not some fad, unless you think a product that has been used successfully to treat pain and disease for thousands of years is one.

After this study and my own experience with the product, I have to say that my mind has been completely changed. We NEED to stop demonizing hemp oil and try to get this information mainstream so it can save more lives.
